Getting to Rayavadee Resort

The closest and most convenient airport is Krabi International Airport.

Krabi International Airport (KBV)
Distance: 25 km
Travel  time to the Rayavadee Resort, Host Hotel: approximately 1 hour (30–40 minutes by car to the resort’s private pier, followed by a 20-minute boat ride).

Fly direct to Krabi International Airport with Fly Dubai.

From the UK/Ireland
We recommend flying on Emirates, with a direct connection to Krabi International Airport via Fly Dubai.

Getting Around Krabi

Krabi is a vibrant province in southern Thailand, known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning beach towns like Ao Nang and Railay Beach (home of the Rayavadee Resort - Host Hotel). 

Whether you're exploring the local markets, or going for a city tour, Krabi has plenty of ways to get around, such as:

Taxi
Easy and most common way to navigate the Krabi town. Can cost between THB 200–300 (EUR 5-7/ GBP 4-6), depending on the itinerary.

Shuttle Bus
Cheaper, but less convenient (price varies)

Car Rental
Available at the airport or town | Prices vary from THB 800–1,200 (EUR 21-31 / GBP 17-26) per day

Motorbike Rental
Frequent & cheap | THB 150–300 (EUR 3-7/ GBP 3-6) per day
Motorbike Taxis: THB 50–100 (EUR 1-2/ GBP 1-2) per ride You should negotiate  your fare beforehand.

Grab Rides – Hailing App
Uber, Lyft and Bolt are not available in Krabi. However, you can use Grab Rides to get around the town. Works just like Uber (download the app, book rides, pay via card or cash).

Tuk-Tuks and Songthaews (Local Colourful Pick-Up Buses)
Are also available for THB 50 (EUR 1 / GBP 1), depending on distance. 

NavIgating the area

Railay Beach is only accessible by sea, so water transport is essential. Whether you're coming from Ao Nang Town or heading out on an island-hopping trip, here’s what you need to know to explore this tropical haven.

Longtail Boat Transfer (Ao Nang ↔ Railay Beach)
Shared: THB 100–150 (EUR 3-4/GBP 2-3) per person
Kindly note that the boat typically waits until they have about 8 passengers before departing.
Private: THB 800–1,000 (EUR 21-26/GBP 17-22) per boat
Duration: 20 minutes
Tickets are available at Ao Nang Longtail Boat Service Club.


Ferries (Island Transfers)
The ferry is your best and cheapest option to head to nearby islands.
From Klong Jilad Pier to:
Koh Phi Phi: travel duration is aproximately 30 mins and it will cost you around THB 850 (EUR 22/GBP 19) per person
Phuket: travel duration is aproximately 2 hours and it will cost you around THB 900 (EUR 23/GBP 20) per person

Activities to do in Ao Nang

Hike the Ao Nang Monkey Trail
A short, scenic wooden trail leading to the quieter Pai Plong Beach. Expect coastline views and playful monkeys along the way.

Kayaking & Paddleboarding
Relax or Kayak at Pai Plong Beach. After the Monkey Trail, unwind at Pai Plong or rent a kayak and paddle for an adventurous trip.

Kayak in Ao Thalane
Located about 30 minutes from Ao Nang. Explore peaceful mangrove forests, limestone canyons, and rich wildlife.

Hike the Dragon Crest Trail (Khao Ngon Nak)
Located near Tubkaek Beach, about 30 minutes from Ao Nang. Tackle this moderately challenging 7.4 km round-trip trail, for stunning panoramic views of the Krabi coastline and islands.

Rock Climbing
You can rock climb the limestones cliffs overlooking the beach. Railay is a world-famous rock climbing destination. Try a beginner’s class or guided climb.

Nightime Illuminated Kayaking

Island Hopping
Book a longtail or speedboat trip to visit: Phi Phi Islands, Hong Islands, Chicken Island & Tup Island and Bamboo Island.

Snorkeling & Diving

Railay Beach (West & East)

A short walk from the resort. Incredible views, turquoise water, great for swimming and sunset views.

Phra Nang Cave Beach
Right by the resort. Famous for its sacred cave, dramatic limestone cliffs, and white sand.

Princess Cave (Tham Phra Nang Nok)
Located at Phra Nang Beach, this spiritual site is dedicated to an ancient fertility goddess. It’s filled with symbolic offerings like large phallic statues, flower garlands, and incense.


Cultural & Off-Resort Excursions

Ao Nang Night Market
visit the Landmark Night Market (also called "Nightlife Street"). This is the largest night market in Ao Nang, set across the road from Noppharat Thara Beach as part of the Ao Nang Landmark project.

Krabi Town
About 45 minutes away (including boat + car). Visit local markets, Wat Kaew temple, and enjoy riverside dining.

Thung Teao Forest Natural Park - Emerald Pool & Hot Springs (Sa Morakot)
Home to many spectacular plants and animals The Natural Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The park encompasses natural pools particular for their warm and clear water.

Tiger Cave Temple
The caves sit within the jungle and house many monks that live and worship there, legend has it that a tiger once lived in the cave. Climb 1,260 steps to reach the top of the temple, where you'll have a panoramic view of Krabi.

Phu Khao Phra Maha Bodhisattva Temple
A short detour from the main road reveals steep steps leading up to this peaceful temple, with panoramic views of the coast and Ao Nang below.

Krabi in April: What to Pack for the Weather (and the Wedding!)

April is one of the hottest months in Thailand, with dry and sunny days, and temperatures reaching up to 34°C (sometimes even 40°C!). Expect warm days, balmy evenings and occasional clouds or light rain. It’s perfect beach weather, with sea temperatures around 30°C.

What to Pack
– Light, breathable clothes (such as: cotton, linen)
– Flowy dresses, shorts, and loose shirts
– Swimwear & sunhat
– Modest outfit for temple visits (shoulders & knees must be covered)
– Slip-on sandals or flip-flops

Visa

Nationals of the following countries are eligible for visa on arrival when traveling to Thailand for tourism, business, urgent work, or ad-hoc assignments. The initial stay is permitted for up to 60 days, with a possible extension of up to 30 additional days:
